The Perfect Trip: Dutch Bikes & Belgian Chocolate

It’s middle of February, and although I live in Spain, I reached that point of winter when you just can’t stop yourself from craving for summer. These sunny and warm vibes that make you feel so happy, I suffer.
Let’s move backwards to last summer for a moment, when I went on a marvellous trip.
It was right after I passed all my exams and graduated, I enjoyed so much with my mind being absolutely worry-free.
First, I visited my brother in Amsterdam, then I travelled further to Brussels, to visit my good Belgian friend.
For a variety, I chose land transportation this time!
My first experience with Eurostar was really great, I would say – as expected. Train from London to Amsterdam was quick and comfortable. I literally closed my eyes just for a 5 minute nap, and somehow turned to wake up fresh and rested at final destination.
Without liquid limits, luggage policies whether annoying cabin crew trying to sell you overpriced vending machine snacks #justsaying
I also decided to come back without catching a flight. Completely heights-free travel.
I booked a bus from Brussels to London. Honestly, I wouldn’t probably repeat this decision today. The journey was too long and coach is definitely less comfy and spacious than train. But it was still interesting experience to pass the Eurotunnel while being on a vehicle. Not regretting though.
Amsterdam

That was my second time visiting this city. However, first time was during the winter, so I had an opportunity to see the same place through different seasons lens. It was obviously different, I’m actually very glad I went there in summer. Amsterdam can be very charming and breathtaking. I am definitely recommending to anyone renting a bike. I just can’t imagine that trip without riding a bike between canals and smiling to everyone on the street. I was so happy that day. I think cycling in Amsterdam is another kind of experience, that everybody should have tried at least once.

Belgium
This country was on my check-list since quite a long time. I felt very happy to finally tick that destination off. My Belgian friend was more welcoming than I could honestly imagine, I spent amazing time with her family and the cutest dog on earth. I stayed only for the weekend, but it was very intensive time, while I literally crossed the whole country and saw all the most important cities and spots.
Brussels, Bruges, Ghent and Ostend. My favourite was definitely the northern Flemish part with Bruges town. Astonishing canals, so called Venice of the north, and it does not surprise me at all, because it feels exactly like being in Italy, especially when you rent a boat.
Very, very nice place to visit!

Bruges

Ghent

Brussels
Ostend

All I have.. is just counting down the days till summer’s back!
